The published works of Josef Seifert, the renowned Austrian philosopher, follow the principles of phenomenological realism, that is, the philosophical trend founded by Edmund Husserl and joined by such great thinkers as Adolf Reinach, Max Scheler, Dietrich von Hildebrand, Alexander Pfänder, and Edith Stein. The philosophy he calls phenomenological realism is closely linked to the classical philosophical tradition, especially to Plato and the tradition of Platonism, as well as to the Aristotelian world of thought.
